What you appreciate about WJU: Being a native of the greater Sacramento area, I am very excited to see how WJU will impact this community as the first private and first Christian four year, Liberal Arts University. I am excited about our proximity to all that this area has to offer – the Capital of California, the mountains, one of the fastest growing areas in California with many new businesses and schools – and what that will mean for our students and their prospective careers and ministries. I am also excited that although WJU is growing, we still keep a small campus atmosphere and strong ties to our roots in ministry. I believe WJU students will help change the face of this developing region of California.
Favorite things to do: After spending nearly 19 years of my life involved in music (I started performing at age four), it is still a consuming presence in my life. I especially love singing, songwriting and learning new instruments. Right now I play piano proficiently but also own (and try to play) a trumpet, djembe (African hand percussion), harmonica, recorder, guitar, and accordion! I am newly married to the love of my life, Lance, and we share many things in common: a love of music and art, motorcycles, involvement in youth ministry, church and foreign missions, Chai tea, coffee shops, eBay, and anything active outdoors. I should also mention that in addition to being a potato sack race champion at my church Memorial Day picnic, I am an avid reader and I LOVE to buy old books, especially in the genres of history or literature.
A favorite verse: Philippians 1:21
