WJU sends foreign mission teams to Africa, Asia, Europe and Latin America. Domestic mission opportunities have included New Orleans, San Francisco and other urban settings.
The application process for spring summer mission trips generally begins in October each year for the following semester. Although we try and provide opportunities for as many students as possible, space is limited.
09-10 Trips
Our 09-10 trip offerings are as follows:
Amsterdam - January 2010 (early app dealine). Service in partnership with The Shelter hostel in Amsterdam.
Brazil - May 2010. Service in partnership with Restoration Ministries in the favelas (shanty towns) of Sao Paulo.
Cambodia - May 2010. Service in partnership with AIM (Agape International Mission) and local churches to aid them in thier efforts to end child sex trafficking in Cambodia.
Applications are due NO LATER than October 31, 2009 for all 09 trips (unless otherwise noted).
FUNDRAISING
Support Letters: Trip participants generally raise funds through support letters. Support checks can be written to "WJU", sent to the attention of Campus Ministries. PLEASE NOTE: student names SHOULD NOT appear anywhere on the check as this violates IRS regulations. Click here to print our standard support letter return slips.
Mission Banquet: Our Annual Mission Banquet is held in February each year and proceeds benefit mission efforts at WJU.
Trout Derby: Our Annual Trout Derby is held in May of each year - this year 100% of the funds raised through the Fish-A-Thon will go towards William Jessup University's new Global Missions Endowment.
