Spiritual Formation Groups

Spiritual Formation Groups (SFGs) are small groups of 8-10 students formed with the purpose of building relationship on a more intimate level. Participation in an SFG allows each student to become accountable to a small group, interact with others on tough issues, ask question about college life and support one another through prayer, friendship and practical help.

Led by staff, faculty, administrators and upperclassmen students, these groups are an integral part of community and support at WJU. SFG Groups are required and students may sign up for an SFG just like they would classes with a choice of leaders and topics.

Spiritual Formation Group Requirements

Students must attain SFG credit for one half (1/2) of the time they are enrolled full time (12 units or more) at in WJU’s traditional undergrad program.  A “Credit” or “No Credit” grade will be given at the end of the semester solely based on group attendance.  Below is a chart with the breakdown of SFG requirements by semesters attended:
