Dropping or Withdrawing from a Course

Petition to Drop or Add a Course

A student who needs to drop or withdraw from a course must request a withdrawal form from the Registrar’s Office or Student Center, obtain the advisor’s signature, the professor’s signature (if the late registration period has closed), and return the form to the Registrar’s Office.
Students are responsible to obtain all necessary signatures in order to be officially withdrawn from classes. The drop procedure will not be initiated until all signatures have been obtained. The drop date, upon which refunds are based, is determined by the date the Registrar receives a completed drop card, not the date students decide to withdraw from class. Failure to withdraw from class officially will result in an F being entered on the permanent transcript for the class and any refunds for the class being forfeited.
A student who has officially dropped a class and who is no longer registered for credit or for audit is ineligible for further attendance in that class.
