WJU's Public Policy Institute Publishes New Book on Leadership

William Jessup University’s Public Policy Institute publishes a new book written by Senior Fellow, Dr. Merlin Switzer, Bold Leadership: Biblical Principles for Marketplace Impact available on Amazon and through the PPI webpage at www.jessup.edu/academics/public-policy/public-policy-institute.

In his book, Dr. Switzer provides insights and input collected from nearly 100 successful marketplace leaders around the country who have boldly lived out their faith in the organizations they represent.

“Merle’s tremendous work on this book brings together not only the expertise of today’s marketplace leaders but the wisdom gained from being a bold leader himself,” said Sosamma Samuel Burnett, Jessup’s Public Policy Chair and Executive Director of the Institute. “The Bold Leadership book is one of the great resources that PPI can provide to leaders in the public and private sector to strengthen their effectiveness and make a positive impact.”

Dr. Switzer provides profiles and principles from well-known leaders including former Intel Chief Operating Officer and current President and CEO of EMC Information Infrastructure Products, Pat Gelsinger; CEO of Hobby Lobby, David Green; and former CEO and Chairman of Correct Craft Boats, Ralph Meloon. Each of these leaders has provided great support for the Bold Leadership book and for its release on June 1.

Dr. Switzer is an expert on leadership and management and has a range of experience in the public and private sector. He has nearly 30 years of experience serving in Law Enforcement, including six years as Captain and Training, Planning and Research Divisions Commander.

Switzer also developed a broad consulting business providing leadership and management training and evaluation to corrections programs, law enforcement, the Department of Transportation, and Community Colleges. He conducts POST team building workshops, organizational assessments, and strategic planning services.

Launched by the Public Policy Department in Fall 2011, the Public Policy Institute at William Jessup University is a policy think tank and community resource, committed to equipping today’s leaders for greater effectiveness in the public sector. Through cutting edge research, policy consulting, and continuing education seminars and workshops, the Public Policy Institute is a catalyst for intelligence, innovation, and initiative to transform today’s issues into tomorrow’s opportunities.

The Public Policy Department at William Jessup University is dedicated to preparing tomorrow’s leaders today. The Public Policy Degree Program is a dynamic and distinct multidisciplinary program that integrates Biblical principles, political science, and public administration/policy analysis.
