Program Strengthens Donor Relations
William Jessup University wouldn’t be where it is today if it weren’t for its’ faithful donors. Over 55 donors gathered together last Saturday night at a dinner event launching the ‘President’s Circle’, a newly formed organization that directly supports scholarship opportunities for deserving students who are unable to afford a college education without assistance.
"The 72-year history of William Jessup University is set apart by the legacy of exceptional people coming together to do extraordinary things to further the vision of the university,” said Jessup’s President, Dr. John Jackson. “President’s Circle membership was created with that legacy in mind; to share the vision of WJU and build community among those who faithfully resource WJU through their prayers and support."
Membership benefits include exclusive opportunities to become acquainted with President Jackson and his Presidential Management Team at regional lunch and dinner events or trips. Members also receive information about the latest developments, visions and plans for the growing university in addition to increased opportunities to connect with students and faculty.
President’s Circle is chaired by WJU Board Member Bill Coyne, former President and CEO of Raley’s Family of Fine Stores. Vice Chair is Tammy Horrocks, former CFO of Pinnacle Builders, Inc.
“William Jessup University is resting at a tipping point, the future is amazing and the next few years will demand that we shoulder the responsibility of Godly stewardship to ensure the interest of every achieving student desiring a transformational education at WJU is met,” Coyne said.
One donor has supported the Christian Liberal Arts University for the past 58 years and traveled from Bakersfield to attend the special event. “I support WJU because this college, now a growing university, has placed great leaders in the ministry, business and political marketplace; it’s been an honor to watch it grow and become such a powerful instrument for God’s Kingdom,” explained Violet Hare.
"The birthing of the President's Circle represents yet another milestone in the life of William Jessup University,” Jackson said. “We are seeing God raise up another part of our family for His glory so that we can see even more students become transformed and then become agents of transformation in our world. The excitement in the room was palpable as we considered the future that we are just beginning to sense."
Charter membership opportunities continue until December 31, 2012. For more information or to learn more about membership opportunities, contact Dawn Hill, WJU’s Director of Donor Development at 916-577-1809 or dhill@jessup.edu.
