William Jessup Named Among America’s Best College Buys®
William Jessup University has been named as one of America’s Best College Buys® in the 18th annual National College Survey by the Institutional Research & Evaluation Inc., which recognizes institutions of higher education that provide exceptional educational opportunities.
"We are honored to be recognized on a national level,” said William Jessup’s Director of Admission, Vance Pascua. “Considering that 1,453 U.S. colleges and universities were surveyed and we were one of five institutions to be selected in California alone is significant. This recognition speaks directly to the level of excellence that we strive to achieve both for our students and our surrounding community."
One of the criteria in the survey was cost. At a time of economic uncertainty, many families and students might overlook the possibility of attending a private university, but they offer an affordable alternative. In the current academic year, William Jessup awarded more than $2.2 million in institutional financial aid. Most WJU students received financial aid.
The survey required the cost of attendance not to exceed the national average by 10 percent. The cost of attending William Jessup (tuition, fees, room & board) was approximately $3,000 less than the national average for private institutions.
Qualifying for designation as one of America's Best College Buys® requires that the institution be an accredited, four-year institution offering bachelor degrees; full residential facilities (including residence halls and dining services) and have an entering freshman class with a grade point average equal to or above the national average.
William Jessup’s Freshman Academic Profiles reflected an elevated incoming student population representing above average GPA, SAT and ACT scores.
