Honduras- Summer 2014

Team Honduras 2014 will be working with Providence World, or La Providencia. This is our first time working with this organization, but both sides are excited to be building this relationship! The team is set and the dates are getting worked out!

If you have not heard of Providence World, Check out their website https://providenceworld.com/

A bit about the organization:

Providence exists to inspire and equip others around the world to love orphans, widows, and at-risk communities as God loves them. We do this through:

  • Extensive research of the plight of orphans and orphan care systems around the world
  • Collaboration with other orphan care organizations to establish a framework for use in developing best practice orphan care communities
  • Creating La Providencia, an incubator best practice, family-based orphan care community in Siguatepeque, Honduras, and
  • Provoking conversation and action toward best-practice orphan care through a collaborative book project, dissemination of information and training materials, and Internet-based discussions

Here is a quote about the teams that come to work with them:

“Since we value relationship so highly, we want to assure you that all trips start right there‚ interactions with the people of La Providencia. You’ll have the opportunity with your family, home fellowship, or church group to build encouraging relationships with the La Providencia children, families, and staff, as well as the surrounding community.”

Some possible projects the team will be working on are:

  • Construction Projects
  • Vacation Bible School
  • Teaching Skills
  • Sports Camps
