The mural in the art room was installed by Kelly Peterson from LAYERS OF COLOR studio in Roseville and and her class on the Tatoowall process. This piece is an enlargement of a work done by LAYERS OF COLOR artist, Kristina Letson, and it is a depiction of Miles Davis and his trumpet. The process is owned by the group architexture and they are found at myarchitexture.com. They speak of tatoowall on their website:
‘Tattoowall™ is a patented and certified new technique created for the production of direct and lasting transfers of digital images of elaborate decorations on computer for any surface of any size. It is not the application of a film or paper, but the direct transfer of color onto a desired surface. An “affresco effect” is derived that does not require any preliminary wall treatment in order to fix the color. Invented to create murals, Tattoowall™ has been used on a variety of surfaces such as, building plaster, untreated cement and bricks, without size limitations.’ – architexture.com
We are very blessed to have this mural donated to us by Kelly and Layers of Color, it is an amazing addition to the creative space that is the arts studio.
