For you are my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness. For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. This God—his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
2 Samuel 22:29-31
Jessup University will host a prayer breakfast in honor of the 73rd Annual National Day of Prayer on Thursday, May 2, 2024 beginning at 7:30 a.m. The event is made possible by Jessup University and radio sponsor 103.9 THE FISH.
The theme of this year’s breakfast is Lift up the Word – Light up the World and emphasizes the need for individuals, corporately and individually, to place their faith in the unfailing character of their Creator.
The popular and consistently sold-out event features keynote speaker and President of Jessup University, Dr. John Jackson. In addition to the keynote speaker, additional prayer leaders representing our surrounding region will offer their testimonies, experiences, and pray for those in their respective professions or spheres of influence including business, churches, education, families, government, media and the military.
The National Day of Prayer was created in 1952 when President Harry S. Truman signed a joint resolution of Congress into law. In 1988, President Ronald Reagan signed a law declaring that the first Thursday in May would be designated as the National Day of Prayer each year.
Purchase Tickets
Tickets to the event are $10.00 each with the option to book a table for your group.

Dr. Tamara Bennett, Pastor of This is Pentecost (TIP)
Dr. Tamara Bennett is the founder and senior pastor of This is Pentecost International Fellowship Ministries (affectionately known as “The TIP”), in Sacramento, CA. From humble beginnings over 20 years ago, Dr. Bennett has fostered the growth of “The TIP” from a handful of attendees to its current global outreach through both in-person ministry and via social media to more than two million people annually.
Despite being situated in an area riddled with gang violence and poverty, “The Tip” has become a beacon of hope in the Sacramento community. Dr. Bennett’s overwhelming passion for developing and mentoring people to become their best is palpable. In 1998, she founded not one, but two non-profit organizations: The Daughters of Zion (DOZ) Enterpryz and Space of Grace Youth Academy. She and her husband have dedicated their lives to serving others through these organizations as well as “The Tip.” In celebration of her achievements, World Harvest University awarded Tamara an Honorary Doctorate of Humanitarianism.
