"But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him."

Jeremiah 17:7

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy

In order to be eligible for federal, state, or institutional aid, students must make satisfactory academic progress (SAP) according to the University’s policy. If you have questions you may contact Chrislin Wilder at (916) 577-2234 or cwilder [at] jessup [dot] edu.

This policy requires a student to have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.00 and to successfully complete a minimum of 67% (2/3) of classes in which the student has enrolled.

All students will be reviewed for SAP compliance at the end of every Spring semester. Students who have not met the requirements for SAP will be notified and placed on financial aid probation. Financial aid probation means you are ineligible for federal, state, and institutional aid, including scholarships, grants, and student loans.

Students who are placed on financial aid probation may be granted an extension of financial aid eligibility based on the appeal process described below (if extenuating circumstances occur such as medical problems, family emergencies, a death in the family, or special circumstances as determined by the institution).

Students on financial aid probation may appeal to the Financial Aid Committee for reinstatement of financial aid by completing the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Appeal Form, available below or in the Financial Aid Office. A student who continues unsatisfactory academic progress must appeal for financial aid on a semester basis, for a maximum of two semesters. Financial aid may or may not be reinstated at the discretion of the Financial Aid Committee. After receiving the second semester of financial aid on appeal, a student may not receive financial aid again until achieving satisfactory academic progress.
