Follow the instructions on your NEXT STEPS Checklist for accepting your aid and completing Missing Documents. Our office will receive electronic notification when these steps are complete and we will notify Student Accounts for you.
Parents of dependent students must apply online at studentaid.gov. PLUS loans require a basic credit check and have a fixed interest rate. For the current interest rate and more information about the Parent PLUS loan please review at studentaid.gov/understand-aid/types/loans/plus/parent.
Subsidized loans are awarded to students who have “need” according to their FAFSA. The government pays the interest accruing on the loan while you’re enrolled in school at least half-time. Unsubsidized loans: the student is responsible for paying the interest once the loan is originated.
All payments on Stafford loans can be deferred while the student is enrolled at least half-time. The borrower may elect to make early payments and/or interest-only payments at any time. Please see studentaid.gov/understand aid/types/loans for more information on student loans and their current interest rate.
Undocumented students who are California residents can be considered for California state financial aid by completing the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) online at https://dream.csac.ca.gov/landing. To find out if you qualify for CADAA please visit https://csac.ca.gov/cadaa-and-eligibility
Cal Grant is a California-specific financial aid grant that does not need to be paid back. To find out if you qualify for a Cal Grant complete your Cal Grant Application at https://mygrantinfo.csac.ca.gov/ by March 2nd.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of students’ educational records and gives parents/guardians certain rights regarding their child(ren)’s education records. Students have the option of choosing whether or not they authorize Jessup University to release their information. Students will need to complete the FERPA Disclosure Authorization in order for the Financial Aid department to provide any information regarding their account.
