Kinesiology – Sports Management – Full-Time

William Jessup University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Kinesiology to begin August 2017. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate kinesiology courses in sports management, athletic administration and coaching, including but not limited to; Introduction to Sports Management, Portfolio Development, Sports Law, Sports Marketing, Management of Athletics, Economic and Financial Management of Sport, Sports Psychology, Sociology of Sports, and recreational activity coursework in classroom settings and online. The successful candidate would participate in course, curriculum, and program development, advising as well as departmental, university, and professional/community service activities.
The Kinesiology Program at WJU mission is to serve and lead within the health, fitness and sports industry with a Christ-centered perspective. The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (BSK) program provides a sound liberal arts background and an area of academic specialization, with an associated foundation of understanding and competencies in the discipline with an integrated Christian world view. The kinesiology major allows students the opportunity to study the core academic areas (below), while offering many sub-disciplines related with the allied health professions, athletic team concepts and applications, and academic pedagogy.
Three areas of concentration:

  • Exercise science (pre-allied health, athlete training and strength and conditioning)
  • Sport management (physical education\coaching)
  • Health and Fitness (personal training, fitness ministry, etc.)
