White Honored As NAIA Scholar-Athlete

Sioux City, Iowa- As announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), William Jessup University senior defensive specialist, Melissa White (Benson, Ariz.) was one of the 304 volleyball players nationwide named 2009 Daktronics-NAIA Volleyball Scholar-Athletes.

William Jessup University placed two players on the All-Conference volleyball first team and head coach Terry Stafford was named Coach of the Year, Commissioner Don Ott announced today.

Rocklin, Calif. – After knocking off Holy Names in the season finale, the William Jessup University volleyball team thought they were ready for California Pacific Conference playoffs.  However, the #4 seed from Simpson University turned up the playoff intensity to upset the Warriors 3-0 in the first round match-up at the Warrior Dome.

Rocklin, Calif. - After two straight 3 win seasons, the William Jessup University Volleyball team was looking to make a statement for respect in their final home game of the season. Picked in the preseason poll to finish sixth in the Cal Pac, the Warriors found themselves in a battle for second place in the conference. On a special night to honor the seniors, the Warriors played inspired ball to down Holy Names University in a thrilling five game match 12-25, 25-20, 25-11, 19-25 and 15-12.

Corissa Jacomini Selected As Volleyball Player of the Week

Rocklin, Calif. - William Jessup University senior Corrisa Jacomini was selected as the California Pacific Conference Volleyball Players of the Week for the dates of October 26th through November 2nd, 2009.

Jacomini, a native of Modesto, California, had 27 digs in a 2-0 week for the Warriors. The Warriors beat Mills College 3-1 on Saturday in Rocklin and won 3-0 over Bethany University on Saturday in Scotts Valley.
