Auburn, Calif. - Through the fog and the rain the William Jessup University men's golf team finished in 2nd place in the William Jessup Invitational at The Ridge golf course. The invitational consisted of the five California Pacific Conference members. Due to the weather, the teams only completed one round of 18 holes.

Bonsall, Calif. - William Jessup competed in the CSU San Marcos Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at San Luis Rey Downs Country Club in Bonsall. William Jessup competed with eleven other schools, five of which came from the NAIA.

In the first round, in the morning, freshman Derek Zachman led the Warriors with an opening round 77 (+5), which put him only five strokes behind Point Loma Nazarene's Ryan Ellerbrock for the lead. Phil LaFata turned an opening round 80 (+8) to pace the Warriors.

Chico, Calif. - The rain was dumping, the wind was howling, and Chico State's Sylvester Gama stayed red hot. Gama defeated Holy Names' Stephan Edman with a par on the second playoff hole to earn medalist honors to wrap up the InterWest Wildcat Classic at Butte Creek Country Club Tuesday morning. Playoffs between Gama and Edman and Olof Rosborg of Saint Martin's and Bryan Kiss of Cal State Stanislaus (for fourth place) were the only golf played Tuesday due to wet and windy conditions.

Portland, Ore. - The William Jessup University men's golf team opened up the fall season at the Cavalier Classic at Heron Lakes Golf Course. The Warriors took 5th place out of 12 teams in the three-day event.

Freshman Brandan Warner (Angels Camp, CA) led the way for the Warriors. Warner tied for 12th place with scores of 73, 78 and 80 on the par 72 course. Freshman Derek Zachman (Auburn, CA) finished 17th overall. Zachman shot 78, 79 and 77.

Two Warrior golfers were honored this week by the Coaches in the Cal Pac Conference, as Sophomore Gareth Gobey and Freshman Zach Kuykendall were named second team selections.
