Rocklin, Calif. - William Jessup University men's basketball player Jeremy Devers has returned home this summer to use the game of basketball to make a difference in the lives of the Indonesia people. Raised in Bandung, Indonesia, Devers is currently playing for the Bandung U-20 team and will play with the visiting Athletes in Action team from the United States next week.

Devers arrived in Indonesia shortly after the WJU school year ended. After two days of travel, he met up with Indonesia University coaches and players. Devers had played with several of the players in high school. From there, he jumped right in with the coaches to assist in helping with the high school team practice. He has been traveling and playing with Bandung U-20 team. The Bandung and University players are taking turns hosting Jeremy each week. He is enjoying the opportunity of building relationships and sharing his beliefs with everyone.
In addition, Devers has assisted in laying the foundation for the Athletes In Action team to visit Indonesia from June 12th -24th. He has worked closely with AIA's Clint Mahan to prepare basketball clinic's and games for the nine man team of players from various college's in the USA.

Devers will participate in all clinics and games with the AIA team. The AIA team will provide coaching clinic's in the morning and player clinics in the evening the first week. They will begin exhibition games on June 20th against a few Indonesia professional teams. They open with a game against Garuda Bandung from the International Basketball League. The next night they play against Pelita Jaya, who is the IBL team from Jakarta, Indonesia. From there the AIA team will play ITHB College.

Devers has been amazed at how God is working through him in Indonesia.

"God has provided so much for me to be able to serve back home," stated Devers. "The families I have stayed with and the relationships that I am building will last a lifetime. It's a blessing to have the opportunity serve in this country and make a difference in the lives of the people. God has taken care of my every need and I pray that I will continue to be a light unto the world."

Devers will return to Jessup for his junior year in August. Last year, he helped the Warriors to a CALPAC Championship and their first berth in the NAIA National Tournament in Branson, MO.
