Burchett leads Warriors to 2nd Place at Cal Pac Championship Meet
Redding, Calif. - On Friday, the Warriors cross country teams gave it everything they had at the Cal Pac Championship meet in Redding, CA.
After a strong showing in the California Pacific Conference preview meet earlier in the month, the men's team was looking to move up one spot to run past Holy Names University for the title. But, Holy Names held on to capture the Cal Pac Championship. The Warriors finished in second place in the meet. Freshman Ben Burchett led the way for the Warriors as he finished in fourth place with a time of 28:47. Sophomore Chadd Baltzley finished one minute behind Burchett for eight place in the race with a time of 29:48. Senior Juan Aguirre rounded out the top 10 with a time of 30:14. Burchett and Baltzley have qualified for the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Washington.
On the women's side, sophomore Kimberly Spencer led the Lady Warriors to a 6th place team finish. Spencer finished in second place with a time 23:08. Freshman Andrea DeVries finished in 12th place with a time of 23:28.
