A.  Research Projects

The Public Policy Institute conducts cutting edge research and writing on critical policy issues. This work is designed not only to analyze issues but also to identify trends and opportunities. In the 2011-2012 academic year, the Institute pursued studies related to trends within Muslim/Christian relations resulting in a journal article; Principles for Christian Leadership in the Marketplace which developed into the book Bold Leadership, Biblical Principles for Marketplace Impact by Senior Fellow Dr. Merlin Switzer as well as a follow-up workbook which is coming soon; implications of federal regulatory policy for local and state government that will be part of our own policy journal; strategies to address the critical issues of education in California to be presented at a roundtable with education leader; and the impact of California law and policy on business development and job opportunities.

B.  Continuing Education and Materials

The Public Policy Institute is organizing a series of high quality, high impact continuing education seminars and workshops for both professionals and the broader community. By providing continuing education units and educational materials, the Public Policy Institute can provide professional development opportunities for community members to hone their knowledge and skills. Continuing education seminars for 2011-2012 include “Why Christians Should Care about Islam,” as well as our Leadership for Impact event which celebrated the release of Bold Leadership: Biblical Principles for Marketplace Impact. The Public Policy Institute will also provide web-based and other online resources, DVD/print materials, and other supplements to these continuing education seminars.
