The Public Policy Institute will host a series of educational seminars and workshops for professional development and enrichment. Our first seminar, Why Christians Should Care About Islam, features Tom Carroll, Senior Fellow for the Public Policy Institute and former CIA officer specializing in Islam and Middle Eastern affairs. The seminar will be held Saturday, November 12 from 8:00am–12:30pm. The seminar is open to professionals and community members who would like to hone their knowledge and understanding of this topic.
Why Christian Should Care About Islam is a 4-hour continuing education program designed to help Christians think about how Islam fits into their personal worldviews – politically, socially, and religiously. The four topics that will be covered are: 1) The Christian Roots of Islam; 2) Islam and Worldly Success; 3) The Shari’a and Traditional Islam; and 4) Salafism, the Radicals, and Hope for the Future.
The seminar includes materials, recommended academic study, and continuing education credit (4 hours=1/2 unit).
