8th Annual Public Policy Lecture Series (May 7th-9th , 2013)
The Public Policy Department at William Jessup University is pleased to present its 8th annual Public Policy Lecture Series, May 7-9, 2013, 1:30-6:30pm in the Bernadoni Lecture Hall. Each year the Public Policy Lecture Series highlights a range of policy topics and presenters. This year's event will be co-sponsored by Trinity Law School and will feature keynote presentations from R. Scott Owens, Placer County District Attorney (May 7); Ying Ma, Hoover Institute Fellow and Author of Chinese Girl in the Ghetto (May 8); and Brad Dacus, President of the Pacific Justice Institute (May 9)

The Response
William Jessup University co-hosted the Response, a Global Sex
Trafficking Summit put on by Courage Worldwide. The two-day event was
on February 22nd and 23rd featuring various experts who spoke about
addressing human-trafficking. Jars of Clay ended the event with a

International Justice Days (February 13th & 15th , 2013)
The Public Policy Department and Justice Coalition co-sponsored the 6th
Annual International Justice Days at William Jessup University. This
year’s events included a film screening on Wed, Feb. 13, of the award
winning film The Pink Room, that provided a poignant look at
the issue of sex trafficking and sexual slavery. The event was from
6:00-8:00 pm and included a panel discussion with the filmmaker, Joel
Sandvos and Rachelle Ditmore of City of Refuge. On Friday, Feb. 15,
there was a special Chapel service with speakers Joel Sandvoss, Kirt
Lewis of World Relief, and Daniel Gluck of the Public Policy Institute’s

Young Leader's Conference (December 15, 2012)
The Public Policy Deparment at William Jessup University hosted the
3rd Annual Young Leaders Conference on Saturday, December 15.The event included
a luncheon program from 11:30-1:00 featuring Tim Clark, political consultant
and President of Clark Strategy Group; Dr. Merlin Switzer, leadership
consultant and author of Bold Leadership: Biblical Principles for
Marketplace Impact, and Sarah Olson (WJU Public Policy Class of
2008) of the Fair Political Practices Commission. Throughout the day, Public Policy Seniors
presented their senior research projects on a range of significant
topics.
Veteran's Day (November 12, 2012)
The Public Policy Department at William Jessup University invited our
community to join us in honoring our veterans, active duty, and families
at the annual Flag Ceremony held at the WJU campus on Monday, November
12 at 8:00
am. The Flag Ceremony included keynote speaker Brigadier General
David O’Brien (USAFR) and a range of community officials and veterans.
Create Justice (October 24, 2012)
Campus Ministries collaborated with the Public Policy Department and ICS
Department to present the annual Global Awareness Week -- a week of activities and events to
highlight global issues and feature our missions groups. During that week
the Justice Coalition in partnership with the Sketch Club presented Create
Justice -- an art exhibit benefiting Justice Coalition organizations that fight
sex trafficking. The event featured a young artist who was rescued from sex
trafficking and also highlighted the creative work of a number of our WJU
students and partnering organizations.
Justice Is Served (October 20, 2012)

WJU Women's volleyball team played to raise funds to support various justice organizations such as Agape International Mission, Courage Worldwide, International Justice Mission, and Invisible Children. Members of the community came to watch and support WJU Women Warriors play for justice!
