My expertise has been around the integration of Christian theology and spiritual with psychology. Working from a Christian psycho-spiritual perspective, my research and clinical training have focused on addiction and trauma. I am interested in how shame maintains experiential avoidance so prevalent in addiction and trauma. I believe the healing and restorative nature of God’s grace in Christ experienced by the Spirit in connecting with others in a deep and transparent manner can transform shame into true freedom and joy. As such, I am interested in continuing research and academic work around factors that provide opportunities for transformation and flourishing.

Why Jessup

As an adjunct at WJU I became impressed with the students and their openness and eagerness to learn. I enjoyed the dialogue and relationships that I experienced with both students and faculty. I found Jessup to be a place that is grounded in the Gospel, which allows for an openness and hospitality to others.
